Film: The Time Traveler's Wife (Romance)
Cast: Eric Bana, Rachel McAdams
Direction: Robert Shwentke
Duration: 1 hour 4 minutes
This one's definitely for the diehard romantics who like their stories Mills & Boon style. More importantly, it has that delicious touch of the supernatural which makes the mating and meeting unpredictable and non-linear.
Eric Bana calls himself a time traveler because he has a genetic disorder that causes him to flit between different time zones. All his travellings happens involuntarily and sees him suddenly disappearing and reappearing, much to the discomfiture of all, but one. And that's his wife, Rachel McAdams, who meets him as a young girl offering him a blanket as he apparates as an adult, in the buff, before her. The duo stay together and build up a warm and vibrant relationship despite the time-span variance. The problem in this paradise is Bana's ability to peep into the future, but McAdam is willing to conquer all, in the name of love. Even a time-traveling pregnancy!
Based on the novel by Audrey Niffenegger, the film is a lyrical and laid back odyssey of love.
